Re-Entry Services Celebrate Automotive Academy Graduation

Program Continues with 19 Residents Earning Industry-Recognized Certifications

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) hosted its second ceremony recognizing the graduating class of the Fleet Services Automotive Academy program. Nineteen residents from Macon Transitional Center (TC) received certificates for successfully completing automotive industry programs in either Auto Collision Paint and Body (I-Car), or Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (ALMR) through a partnership with Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC). Advisory Committee

The program advisory committee provides expert support to the program by promoting interaction between the program and business and industry professionals. Support focuses on planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the occupational program. It functions in the following ways:

provides recommendations regarding existing diploma/degree course offerings. 
provides advice regarding learning outcomes and curriculum content to ensure that courses relate to present and future employment needs. –makes suggestions regarding modifying, adding, or deleting course offerings.

Firefighter I

The Firefighter I Technical Certificate of Credit program is conducted in cooperation with the Georgia Fire Academy and Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training to ensure graduates have the skills, knowledge and credentials to serve as firefighters in paid and volunteer fire departments. Graduates will be tested and certified at the state level.

CGTC Foundation Receives $200,000 Anonymous Gift  

 
Warner Robins, GA – The Central Georgia Technical College Foundation has received a $200,000 donation from an anonymous donor in support of student scholarships. At the donor’s request, the funds will be used for qualifying students participating in re-entry services, veterans’ services, and adult education.

The Cybersecurity degree program is a sequence of courses designed to provide students with an understanding of the concepts, principles, and techniques required in computer information processing. Graduates are to be competent in the general areas of humanities or fine arts, social or behavioral sciences, and natural sciences or mathematics, as well as in the technical areas of computer terminology and concepts, program design and development, and computer networking. CGTC Adult Education Gives Back with Food Drive

Macon, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Adult Education Division (AED) recently took part in a food drive with the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank to provide students and community members with goods in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Female Dual Enrollment Student in Putnam County Wins a Very Non-traditional Beta Club Competition

Eatonton, Ga. – Putnam County High School (PCHS) dual enrollment student, Annabell Sapp, put new-fashioned welding skills to the test for the 80th Annual Senior Beta Convention held in January for Georgia’s high school Beta clubs, winning 1st place in a competition for a technical subject largely dominated by her male counterparts.
