Center for Cybersecurity

Welcome to the CGTC Cyber Center. The purpose of this CGTC Cyber Center website is to provide students and the community with information about the College’s Cybersecurity program and other related programs.

Cybersecurity training and education has become increasingly relevant in today’s world. In Middle Georgia the Warner Robins Air Force Base, one of the largest employers in the state, cybersecurity is a key aspect to their mission. Advancements in technology have made cybersecurity a vital component for every business and industry in the world.

The Cybersecurity associate degree program is a sequence of courses designed to provide students with an understanding of the concepts, principles, and techniques required in computer information processing. Graduates are to be competent in the general areas of humanities or fine arts, social or behavioral sciences, and natural sciences or mathematics, as well as in the technical areas of computer terminology and concepts, program design and development, and computer networking. Program graduates are qualified for employment as Cybersecurity Specialists or Information Security Analysts.

Well-trained cybersecurity personnel are needed in government and private industry. According to the (ISC)2 CYBERSECURITY WORKFORCE STUDY, 2021 there is a 30% increase in demand for cybersecurity personnel in the United States in the last year for an estimated 1.1 million number of cybersecurity professionals.
