Macon, GA — Students in the Radiologic Technology program at Central Georgia Technical College’s Macon Campus have reached a historic milestone, achieving a 100% first-attempt pass rate on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) national certification examination. This exceptional accomplishment marks the first time the program has reached this level of success since 2011.

The ARRT examination is the nationally recognized credentialing exam required for licensure and employment as a registered radiologic technologist. Passing the exam on the first attempt reflects not only students’ mastery of complex technical and clinical competencies, but also the strength of the program’s instructional design, clinical partnerships, and student support systems.

“This achievement speaks volumes about the dedication and resilience of our students,” said Amanda Cobb, MSRS, RT(R)(M), Program Chair of the Macon Campus Radiologic Technology program. “They balanced rigorous coursework, intensive clinical training, and high professional standards—and they rose to the challenge. Not to mention, this is, to my knowledge, the first all-female cohort we’ve had. I couldn’t be more proud.”

Students achieving this milestone include:

Shannon Michaels, Shannon Queen, Elizabeth Hunter, Makilah Mace, Sydni Hill, Sabrina Zunino,
De’Kayla Lundy, Macie Francis, Evangeline Johnston, Jes Ortega, Stephanie Torres, Tiffany Alexander, Ashelin Huber, Mary-Elizabeth Neisler, Jenna McDerment, Emily Fussell, and McKenna Ralph.

The milestone also highlights recent instructional and curricular improvements within the program, including enhanced exam preparation strategies, increased clinical integration, and a strong emphasis on critical thinking and patient-centered care. These efforts have contributed to preparing graduates who are confident, competent, and ready to enter the healthcare workforce.

Graduates of the program are now transitioning into professional roles as registered radiologic technologists, where they will play a vital role in diagnostic imaging and patient care across hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities. “This success reinforces our mission to prepare highly skilled, job-ready healthcare professionals,” Cobb added. “It’s a powerful example of what focused instruction, student commitment, and institutional support can accomplish together. It’s also a testament to the clinical sites that pour into our students each and every day.”
