Warner Robins, Ga. – In partnership with the Georgia CNA Career Pathway Initiative, Central Georgia Technical College’s Economic Development Division Office of Continuing Education is recruiting 750 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for continuing education training. The cost of the course is fully covered, and participants will be awarded a $500 stipend for completing the online coursework.
CNAs are essential to the daily care of patients and clients in medical facilities and in communities everywhere. As a currently licensed CNA their engagement, compassion and resiliency are important. This course serves as an opportunity to focus on refreshing skills, be reminded of the value they add to the healthcare field, take time to consider career advancement opportunities, and to learn specific ways to enhance personal well-being.
“Healthcare is a vital industry that our division regularly engages with and pursues support for,” said Vice President for Economic Development, Andrea Griner. “Generous funding from the Georgia CNA Career Pathway Initiative incentivizes an already talented workforce with access to training opportunities that will ultimately strengthen our healthcare systems.”
Some of the topics covered in the course include refreshers on the role of a CNA, body mechanics, infectious disease, chronic disease and physical disability, behavioral health and self-care, effective communication, cognitive care and aging, death and dying, as well as career and future planning, and career sustainability.
The online course consists of eight modules and may take up to 10 hours to complete. Stipends are limited to the first 750 participants and will be issued via gift card approximately 6-8 weeks after completing the course. Participants must be actively working as a CNA in Georgia.
