WASHINGTON D.C., – The Aspen Institute has named Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) as one of the 150 institutions eligible to compete for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation’s signature recognition of high achievement and performance among two-year colleges. Cybersecurity at CGTC Designated as National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense

Warner Robins, Ga. – The Cybersecurity program at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) through 2028.
The CAE-CD designation is recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA) and indicates that the College is helping reduce threats to our national infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber defense as well as providing the nation with a pipeline of qualified cybersecurity professionals.

Georgia Tech Grad Students Bring Virtual Reality to CGTC Advanced Manufacturing Labs

Macon, Ga. – Three graduate students from the Georgia Institute of Technology (GT) continue work this semester with instructors in the Aerospace, Trade, and Industry Division of Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) to develop virtual reality training for labs of advanced manufacturing.

CGTC Men’s Basketball Coach Reco Dawson Named GCAA Coach of the Year

 
Macon, Ga – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) men’s basketball head coach, Reco Dawson, was recently named the 2019-2020 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Division I Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year.
