CGTC and Georgia VECTR Center Receive $300K in Federal Grant to Help Veterans Find Jobs After Leaving Armed Forces

Warner Robins, Ga. – U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff recently announced new resources to help veterans find jobs after they leave the Armed Forces, including $300,000 in grant funding awarded to Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR).
Bipartisan legislation passed in February led to this funding to support organizations across Georgia that help veterans find jobs once they leave the Armed Forces.
The CGTC Foundation will work with the VECTR Center to administer the funding.

ATLANTA – Dr. Ivan Allen, president of Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) in Macon, chairman for the Board of Trustees for Houston Healthcare and a Navicent Health Foundation trustee, and Dr. Paul Jones, president of Fort Valley State (FVSU) in Fort Valley and trustee at Atrium Health Navicent Peach, are joint recipients of one of the Georgia Hospital Association’s (GHA) highest honors, the Distinguished Service Award.
