CGTC SkillsUSA Chapter Earns Level One Chapter Excellence

April 20, 2020

Warner Robins, Ga. – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) SkillsUSA Chapter recently earned recognition as a Level One Quality Chapter from the national organization’s Chapter Excellence Program (CEP).

The award recognizes the CGTC Chapter’s commitment to a yearly plan of activities, scheduled meetings, and involvement in framework components of the organization.

CGTC Chapter advisor, Melissa Williams, said, “Receiving this award is a great accomplishment for our students, advisors, and college by showing that the CGTC chapter of SkillsUSA fosters personal and workplace skill development, equips its members with valuable leadership skills and experiences in a competitive workforce, and brings state and national recognition to your campus and community.”

CEP recognizes achievement as it relates to the integration of the SkillsUSA Framework in chapter program of work activities. As a chapter’s yearly action plan, the program of work is at the heart of student learning and employability development.

Using the Framework, the program of work becomes the vital conduit that links students to the application of personal, workplace and technical skills demanded by industry.

Chapters nationwide are encouraged by the organization to seek each of the three levels to Chapter Excellence.

Along the journey to Chapter Excellence, SkillsUSA Chapters provide opportunities for students to gain workplace skill development, develop teamwork, pursue excellence and promote technical skills.

The SkillsUSA Chapter of CGTC welcomes new members. For more information visit, Student Organizations at CGTC.
