Warner Robins, Ga. - A new online program has been fast-tracked for Fall Session 2 enrollment at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC), assuring student access to an exciting, essential, and growing career field.
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Solutions Specialist Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) is a new Computer Information Technology program offering computing skills through hands-on practical experience preparing students for AWS certifications.
An AWS developer is responsible for setting-up, maintaining and evolving the cloud infrastructure of web applications. Amazon Web services is a premiere cloud-based solution service utilized by over 190 companies worldwide.
Cloud computing has become an essential part of business operations worldwide. One benefit of acquiring this skill is that the job market is projected to increase steadily into 2028.
Academic Affairs and program leadership at CGTC are optimistic about this certificate’s significance for students and employment. The TCC can be completed in two semesters, quickly positioning students to meet industry demand.
Demand for developers and workers in this industry will stem from the growth of cloud computing. These occupations are projected to add about 546,200 jobs nationwide.
“Cloud computing involves delivering different types of services over the internet, said Sabrina Swann, dean of Business and Computer Technologies, adding that the market for internet services continues to grow.
The course is offered as a part of the Technical College System of Georgia’s E-Campus pilot program. The course will be offered via the Blackboard Learning platform in collaboration with Columbus Technical College.
