CGTC VP for Economic Development, Andrea Griner, Earns Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award

Macon, Ga. – Scouting America and the Central Georgia Council recently awarded its Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award to Andrea Griner, Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Vice President for Economic Development.
The award, given annually, is known as the “Fretwell” and represents continued commitment to excellence in education.

Five Central Georgia Technical College Instructors Named Semi-Finalists for 2025 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction

Macon, GA — Five exceptional instructors from Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) have been named as semi-finalists for the prestigious 2025 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction. These instructors will advance to the next round of judging, scheduled for December 2025.

CGTC Receives $130,240 Grant Award from Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

Warner Robins, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College received $130,240 in funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) through a Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training (CMVOST) grant for fiscal year 2024. The funding will cover tuition and required fees for at least 80 commercial truck driving students, including 40 military affiliated and 40 students from underserved populations, and expand the number of commercial driver’s license (CDL) holders who have enhanced operator safety training.
