Warner Robins, Ga. – Timothy Craig, program manager for the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) at the Georgia VECTR (Veterans Education Career Transition Resource) Center, has been named as the Boots to Business Instructor of the Year for 2021 by the office of Veterans Business Development with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in the VBOC category. Warner Robins, Ga.— LaKeitha Weston, former Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at Peach County High School, has been named Executive Director and Principal of the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Academy. CGTC Dual Enrollment Student Chosen as the Youth Leader Spotlight for America’s Promise

Macon, GA – America’s Promise Alliance ended their year by naming 12th grade Central Georgia Technical College dual enrollment student, Jordan Tolbert, as their youth leader spotlight of the month.
Tolbert served as a YES (young, employed, successful) young professional consultant in the virtual action roundtable initiative sponsored by America’s Promise Alliance’s YES Project.

Sonia Wynne Named 2022 CGTC RPA Instructor of the Year

Warner Robins, Ga. – Hemodialysis instructor and program chair, Sonia Wynne was recently named Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Rick Perkins Award (RPA) Winner for Excellence in Technical Instruction for 2022.
Sonia Wynne has been a dialysis nurse for 30 years. She earned her LPN at Wharton County Junior College in Wharton, Texas and her registered nursing degree at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA.
Wynne began working at the College in 2004 and developed its Hemodialysis program which was the first of its kind in the state of Georgia. Read More

Associate of Science in Nursing Program Set to Expand to Milledgeville Campus

Milledgeville, Ga.- Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program has earned approval to expand its program to the Milledgeville campus of the College.
The ASN program is one of the signature Health Sciences degrees offered by the College. In 2018, the program graduated its first cohort out of the Warner Robins campus following its initial board approval to start the program in 2016.

Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties Donates to CGTC Adult Education

Eatonton; GA – The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam counties presented a check to the Putnam County Campus of Central GA Technical College for Adult Education, GED Testing, in the amount of three-hundred and fifty dollars.
This is the second year for the donation. Scott Gessay, the President of the Rotary, says, “One of Rotary’s focus areas here in the community is education. We provide scholarships to all five of the local high schools in Greene and Putnam Counties and one thing that we saw last year was a need to support the career academies both in Greene and Putnam so we’re providing this scholarship for that cause.”
