CGTC Welding Program Partners with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to Support Local Children and Families

Warner Robins, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) students in the Aerospace, Trade and Industry Division spent part of the fall semester giving back to the nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace Warner Robins.
As part of the partnership, students and faculty constructed three dip tanks specifically designed for staining bed components used by Sleep in Heavenly Peace as the organization works to provide beds to children in need throughout the community.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Warner Robins is part of a national nonprofit organization dedicated to building and providing beds to children who do not have a proper bed of their own. Read More

Warner Robins, Ga. – Anaya West, an eight-year-old from Warner Robins, was awarded a $1,529 Path2College 529 Plan college savings contribution as one of the winners of the We Care Child Care Sweepstakes. Pre-K Teacher at CGTC Child Development Center Named State Teacher of the Year Finalist

Warner Robins, Ga. – Heather Williams of Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Larry O’Neal Child Development Center (CDC) Georgia Pre-K Program is one of six finalists for Teacher of the Year for 2019-2020, named recently by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL).
Williams, a teacher with the Center for a decade, learned she was a finalist with a surprise visit to her classroom from DECAL representatives and CALi, the official mascot dog of the department. Read More

CGTC’s Institutional Effectiveness Staff Donate Gifts to Children of Two Local Organizations

Warner Robins, Ga. – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Office of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) and its staff decided this holiday season it would give back to the community instead of a traditional gift exchange among staff members. The staff purchased gifts for children who are residents of or receive services from two of central Georgia’s charitable organizations, The Methodist Home for Children and Youth in Macon and the Rainbow House Children’s Resource Center (Rainbow House CRC) in Warner Robins.
