Central Georgia Technical College Explores Creative Industry Workforce Partnerships with Camy-Arnett Production Studios

March 23, 2026

Macon, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) recently welcomed Cameron Arnett, founder of Camy-Arnett Production Studios (CAPS), in Roberta, Ga. for a campus visit focused on strengthening workforce development opportunities within Georgia’s growing film and media production industry. The result is plans for internship and apprenticeship opportunities for students in a variety of programs.

Arnett toured the Design and Media Production program at CGTC’s Macon Campus alongside Satellite Operations Director Dr. Marcus Early, engaging with faculty and reviewing facilities designed to prepare students for careers in digital media, film production, and creative design. The visit also included tours of the Cosmetology program at the Macon Campus and the Barbering program at the Warner Robins Campus, highlighting the essential role these disciplines play in supporting film and production environments through on-set styling, artistry, and creative services.

From a workforce development perspective, the visit signals strong potential for industry-aligned internships, experiential learning opportunities, and collaborative projects that connect students directly to professional production environments. With CAPS headquartered in nearby Roberta, Georgia, such collaborations would allow students to gain hands-on experience while helping retain creative talent within the Middle Georgia region and serve as a unique workforce development piece for Crawford County.

“The opportunity to connect our academic programs with an active production studio in our region is a win for students, industry, and the local economy,” said Early. “Innovation like this help ensure our graduates are workforce-ready while positioning Central Georgia as a competitive hub for creative and technical talent.”

The presence of a professional film and production studio in the region enhances CGTC’s ability to respond to evolving workforce needs across media production, digital storytelling, cosmetology, barbering, and related creative fields. These pathways align with Georgia’s expanding film and entertainment sector and reinforce the College’s mission to support regional economic growth through education and industry collaboration.

In 2024, The Georgia Film Office, a strategic office within the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), reported that film and television productions spent $2.6 billion in Georgia during fiscal year 2024, a total of $11 billion over the last three fiscal years.

This engagement reflects a shared commitment between Central Georgia Technical College, local communities and studios to cultivate career pipelines, foster innovation, and strengthen workforce readiness across the creative economy in Central Georgia.
