CGTC Campuses, Instructional Sites to Suspend On-Campus Classes and Most Operations Friday, September 3

Warner Robins, Ga.—In response to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s recent decision to offer administrative leave to encourage state employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, CGTC campuses and instructional sites will suspend classes and operate on a limited basis on Friday, September 3. The College’s Child Development Center locations will remain open for families and children and customized business and industry training courses will continue as scheduled.

REACH Organization Members Spend Summer as Young Professionals

The Virtual Action Roundtable (VART) that took place on July 29 as a part of this project has produced action. The VART gave employer-partners the opportunity to co-design meaningful strategies to improve belonging and inclusion in the workplace for employees of color. Ahead of Fall Semester, CGTC Adds Articulation Agreements with University of Phoenix

Warner Robins, Ga.  Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) announced a new set of articulation agreements this summer with the University of Phoenix that create new pathways for CGTC graduates in high-demand Information Technology (IT) and Nursing programs to advance students to the baccalaureate level.
Both institutions signed agreements in Cybersecurity, IT Professional, and Nursing that include a transfer pathway of courses for each program. Transferable courses provide an affordable pathway to help students accelerate their learning and move into their careers faster. Read More

CGTC Athletic Programs and Student-Athletes Earn NJCAA Academic Honors

Macon, GA – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recently announced the 2020-21 Academic Teams of the Year. Despite circumstances due to COVID-19, NJCAA student-athletes flourished in the classroom as 820 teams earned at least a 3.0 GPA or better.
For the second-consecutive year, the CGTC women’s basketball program has been recognized as an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year. The Lady Titans earned a 3.55 GPA for the 2020-21 academic year, the ninth-highest GPA in the NJCAA for women’s basketball. Read More

CGTC Foundation Relaunches Alumni Network with Series of Special Events in July

Macon, Ga. – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Foundation recently announced the revitalization of its Alumni Network as it strives to connect and support graduates during several special events the week of July 12-16.
The CGTC Alumni Network will host two networking events called, “Off Work, Ready to Work,” for graduates to mingle and connect with local industry partners ready to hire. The events are limited to the first 50 participants.
