Global Initiatives Office Now Accepting Interest Forms for Humanities 1101 Study Abroad Ireland Summer 2026

September 5, 2025

Warner Robins, Ga. – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Office of Global Initiatives is excited to announce that Humanities 1101 in Ireland will be available for regular-credit students for the summer semester 2026.

Traveling June 21-30, the program is operated by the College’s partner, the Institute of Study Abroad Ireland (ISAI) who helps administer a program for the College’s Dual Enrollment students annually for the last five years.

“Interest among regular-credit students for study abroad in Ireland has been growing,” said, JoBen Rivera-Thompson, CGTC’s director for Marketing, Public Relations and International Outreach. “We want to offer all students an avenue to international education that is valuable to their career and educational goals.”

The 9-day program will invite students to complete coursework for Humanities 1101 by engaging in lectures, exploratory trips, and cultural moments in Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, the coastal region of western Ireland touching the Atlantic Ocean.

The program will run concurrently with Dual Enrollment, taking place in two different areas of the region. More than 50 dual enrollment students have traveled and studied in Ireland since 2019.

The program and the CGTC Foundation recognizes that students often face financial barriers to study abroad. Local scholarships are made available for students to apply for to help offset travel costs, and outside scholarships like the Gilman and Gilman-McCain scholarships provide even more funding for Pell-eligible students.
