CGTC’s Adult Education Division to Hold Live-Remote Event in Peach County with V101.7’s Mamma Mia

June 29, 2018

Fort Valley, Ga. – Tune in to V101.7 and stop by the Fort Valley Festival State Park Saturday, June 30, 2018 as Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Adult Education Division (AED) partners with local radio host Mamma Mia for its second free, summer recruitment event.

The Adult Education Recruitment Fair, held in collaboration with the Middle Georgia Consortium, will bring fun and music to the park, June 30, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A new, grant-funded program within the Division called the Youth Success Academy (YSA) is hosting the event alongside the radio station.

The YSA is a program for young adults ages 16 to 24 that provides a multi-layered, multi-leveled approach to delivering education and training to out-of-school youth. Division staff at the Peach County Workforce Development Center will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about the program.

The event will include fun for the whole family, food, entertainment, and prizes. Vendors from the Georgia Department of Labor and WorkSource-Georgia, and more will be at the park.

Additionally, the AED will provide on-site registration and orientation to those interested in furthering their education. A valid Georgia ID is necessary to sign up for classes.

The Division offers GED® preparation, English literacy courses, college preparation, and job training skills across the 11-county service area of the College.

The Fort Valley Festival State Park is located at 310 Martin Luther King Drive, Fort Valley, Ga.
