CGTC Foundation Relaunches Alumni Network with Series of Special Events in July

Macon, Ga. – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Foundation recently announced the revitalization of its Alumni Network as it strives to connect and support graduates during several special events the week of July 12-16.
The CGTC Alumni Network will host two networking events called, “Off Work, Ready to Work,” for graduates to mingle and connect with local industry partners ready to hire. The events are limited to the first 50 participants.

New agreement between CGTC and GSW smooths transition for Information Technology students

Warner Robins, GA – Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) and Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) are partnering to provide new educational opportunities to students in an essential career field in today’s workforce. On June 7, the two higher education institutions signed a transfer articulation agreement to give students in Computer Information Systems (CIST) at CGTC a seamless pathway into a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology (IT) at GSW.

Meet the CGTC Dual Enrollment Graduate to Give Benediction at Graduation

Macon, Ga. – As the 2021 Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Commencement Ceremony approaches. one Dual Enrollment graduate will be one of the last listed on the Order of Exercises, but certainly not the least.
The College recently selected Timothy Burke, a Dual Enrollment graduate from Houston County High School, following a recommendation from the High School Initiatives office, to serve as the graduate to give the Benediction to his classmates.

CGTC Earns Top-10 Finish: Colleges fix 100,000 files to make digital content accessible

State Rick Perkins Award Winner Announcement Coming May 25, CGTC’s Mary Walker Among Finalists

Warner Robins, Ga. – In a month that included CGTC’s announcement of a return to in-person graduation, pinning ceremonies, and the regular, fast-paced end of the semester,  the College community also found out this May that one of its most outstanding instructors was named a finalist for the Technical College System of Georgia’s (TCSG) State Rick Perkins Award (RPA).

Central Georgia Technical College to Offer On-Campus COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

Warner Robins, GA—Central Georgia Technical College will offer faculty, staff, students, and community members the opportunity to participate in on-campus COVID-19 vaccine clinics at both the Warner Robins and Macon campus. Houston Healthcare will offer two on-campus, drop-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics at the Warner Robins campus. The Macon campus clinic will be conducted by the Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) Response.

CGTC Foundation Among Six Community Partnerships to Explore Race, Identity, and Belonging in the Workplace

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The YES Project—Young, Employed, Successful—a national youth employment initiative led by America’s Promise Alliance, announced today the selection of six community-level grantees to host Virtual Action Roundtable conversations in partnership with employers and young workers. Based on the roundtable conversations and ongoing collaboration, employers and young people will co-design meaningful strategies to improve belonging and inclusion in the workplace for employees of color. CGTC Announces In-Person Commencement Ceremony for June 4

Macon, Ga – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) announced Friday that its 2021 Commencement Ceremony will be held in-person on Friday, June 4, 2021. The outdoor event will take place at Brad Henderson Memorial Stadium at 9 a.m. This reverses the College’s previous decision to hold a virtual ceremony.
The College made the decision to have the ceremony outdoor and in-person following the signing of Governor Brian Kemp’s recent Executive Order regarding outdoor capacity on May 1. Read More
