From Homeschool to Apprenticeship with GE Healthcare, CGTC Dual Enrollment Student Blazes Trail

Milledgeville, Ga. – It’s electric! Well, at least that is certainly the excitement Appleton Boone, an 18-year-old homeschool student from Wilkinson County, feels as he heads into his apprenticeship with GE Healthcare later this spring following his graduation from Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) with an Electronics Technology diploma.
Boone, a homeschool student since seventh grade, enrolled at CGTC’s Milledgeville campus because of the hands-on approach, pace, and rigor of the academic courses.

Milledgeville Exchange Club Funds New Scholarship at CGTC

Milledgeville, Ga. – A new scholarship for students in Baldwin County is now available as the Milledgeville Exchange Club presented the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Foundation last week with a $500 check for the award of two scholarships.

CGTC Announces Keynote Speaker for Commencement Ceremony

Warner Robins, Ga. –  Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) will welcome Dr. John Watford, president of South Georgia Technical College (SGTC), to deliver the keynote address at its commencement ceremony on Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m. The ceremony will honor associate degree, diploma credit-program candidates, and GED® graduates.

CGTC Signs Articulation Agreement with FVSU for New Associate Degree

Warner Robins, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) signed an articulation agreement with Fort Valley State University (FVSU) this week for associate degree coursework, adding more transferability options as the College implements its newest degree program this fall.
CGTC’s new Associate of Science (AS) degree in General Studies is mapped to the University System of Georgia’s (USG) core curriculum to allow students the flexibility to transfer into multiple baccalaureate programs at a four-year college or university. Read More

Houston County High School Student Earns Recognition in Statewide Manufacturer’s Appreciation Design Contest

Warner Robins, Ga. – A Houston County High School student earned honorable mention recognition in the 2019 Manufacturing Appreciation Week (MAW) student art design contest. Governor Brian Kemp and the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) recognized high school junior, Brianna Carswell, during the MAW Governors’ Award Luncheon on April 18, 2019, at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta.

Heather Williamson of CGTC Given Technical College System of Georgia’s Top Honor

Consul General of Ireland Meets with CGTC Dual Enrollment Students Ahead of Inaugural Summer Study Abroad

Macon-Bibb Industrial Authority, Robins AFB, CGTC Announce Aviation Workforce Training and Sustainment Center

Macon, Ga. – Students enrolled in aerospace training programs at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) will soon have the opportunity to learn in a first-of-its-kind partnership alongside Robins Air Force Base (Robins AFB) employees, working on active aviation repair and maintenance projects.
The Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, Robins AFB, and CGTC announced Friday a new state aviation workforce training and sustainment approach located at the former Boeing facility at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport (MGRA). The announcement revealed that members of the 402 Commodities Maintenance Group (402 CMXG) at Robins AFB and two of the College’s aerospace training programs are planning to relocate to approximately 240,000 square feet of property at the airport.
