New AI Tutor Coming Fall Semester for Students

August 15, 2024

Warner Robins, Ga. – Recent grant funding to support Academic Affairs is providing students access to a brand-new AI Tutor beginning fall semester.

The SCC Grant is providing a sub award for Academic Affairs to roll-out technology and information to students on ethical and acceptable use of AI, as high-demand industries call for employers with AI skills and knowledge.

Local, regional, and global industries connected to the College have signified that proper knowledge and application of AI is a marketable skill for employment.

“Picture a student up at 3 a.m. with a question about algebra and instead of just rushing to get answer from it, or having to wait on a tutor, they are able to find solutions alongside the technology, with the guidance of a tutor,” said Alison Repzynski, CGTC’s director of library and academic support services. “The 24/7 assistance online from AI tutor means support to find the answer, just like a tutor in the academic success center.”

AI Tutor is guided, secure, student-centered, and adaptive. It encourages students to engage with AI more productively. Unlike other chat bots or AI technologies, AI Tutor is designed for students.

AI Tutor will be accessible to students through single sign-on. The Academic Success Center is available to help students get the most out of the platform.
