Fall Enrollment Reaches Historic High at CGTC for Second Consecutive Year

November 26, 2024

Warner Robins, GA. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) continues to make history, surpassing 11,500 students enrolled for Fall 2024, marking a new record for the College and the second consecutive year of unprecedented enrollment growth.

Already a leader in the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) with the highest number of unduplicated graduates for over a decade, CGTC again has the distinction of having the largest fall enrollment among the system’s 22 colleges.

“Our unwavering commitment to students, and our talented, passionate, and dedicated faculty and staff drive this success,” said CGTC President Dr. Ivan H. Allen. “From expanding student activities, renovating facilities, to fostering partnerships for transfer agreements and meeting workforce demand, we are building a dynamic, supportive environment for students. These efforts, combined with robust programs and workforce development initiatives, continue to yield extraordinary results.”

CGTC leadership is strategically committed to growth through targeted marketing, new program development, and a dedicated commitment to service of students through the enrollment and advisement processes. These traditional strategies, paired with innovative partnerships, are creating sustainable enrollment success.

Traditional recruitment of credit students combined with greater emphasis on international student recruitment, athletic recruitment, Dual Achievement and Dual Enrollment programs, have influenced the College’s sustained success.

New strategies reach toward all types of students in the College’s service area including outreach to military families, as it operates the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center and its enrollment for new Skillbridge and accelerated training programs for veterans and spouses.

Student populations in Georgia’s Department of Corrections and Juvenile Justice, are also not without opportunity to benefit from technical education and prepare for their futures as returning citizens. Through CGTC’s Office of Re-Entry Services the College has continued steady enrollment in those demographics.

“Our partnership with the Georgia Department of Corrections and Juvenile Justices only gets stronger as we continue our longstanding relationship,” said Dr. Brittany Lucas, CGTC executive director for the Office of Re-entry Services. “It is a collaborative effort with TCSG and our academic affairs team to ensure that access to appropriate and high-demand technical programs are available to all our citizens wherever they are in life.”
Strides in healthcare program innovation carry on, as the College recently welcomed a contribution to its Foundation from the Central Georgia Medical Care Network, to expand the CGMCN Career Network Training Program, an initiative aimed at developing scholarships and providing hands-on job experience for students pursuing careers in healthcare.

The College continues its partnership with Trinity School of Medicine (TSOM), allowing students in CGTC’s health sciences programs to tricolpate in service-learning abroad in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This collaboration also supports dual enrollment students in the Medical Professions Transfer Pathway, preparing them for advanced education, including medical school. TCSG has also recently signed an agreement with Mercer University to prepare students locally for practice in medicine.

For those looking to join CGTC’s thriving community, the enrollment window for Spring 2025 is now open. Spring semester begins, Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
