CGTC’s Child Development Center in Warner Robins Reaffirms NAEYC Accreditation with Outstanding Program Score

July 3, 2023

Warner Robins, Ga., – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Child Development Center (CDC) in Warner Robins has successfully reaffirmed its accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

The center achieved an exceptional program score of over 95%, reflecting its commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education and care.

During the program visit conducted in January 2023, hundreds of items across the NAEYC standards were observed, each serving as an indicator of quality. The Warner Robins CDC’s outstanding performance in these standards demonstrates its dedication to meeting and exceeding the highest standards of excellence in early childhood education.

As one of only two NAEYC accredited centers in Houston County and the only one open to the public, the Center has been a pioneer in providing exceptional educational experiences for children. Since its initial accreditation in 2013, the CDC has continuously expanded its programming to cater to a wider range of ages and abilities, while keeping a steadfast commitment to maintaining high-quality practices at the core of its operations.

“We are delighted to receive this reaffirmation of our NAEYC accreditation,” said Brett Copeland, the director of Childcare Centers at CGTC. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our passionate educators and staff, who consistently strive to create a nurturing and enriching environment for our young learners.”

The NAEYC accreditation process is rigorous and involves comprehensive evaluations of various aspects of an early childhood program, including teaching practices, curriculum, assessment, health and safety measures, and community partnerships. By meeting and surpassing these standards, the Warner Robins CDC has demonstrated its commitment to fostering optimal development and learning experiences for children.

The CDC’s commitment to excellence goes beyond the accreditation process. The center continually engages in ongoing self-assessment, professional development for its educators, and collaboration with families to ensure that the needs of each child are met effectively.

CGTC’s Child Development Center provides a wide range of educational opportunities and services for children, creating a strong foundation for their future success.
