Warner Robins, Ga. – Three Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) students took part in The Technical College System of Georgia’s State Leadership Conference in April, returning home with some recognition and awards for their involvement.
Roshon Jackson, Nandhi Mathis, and Donald Masinde, students from CGTC were present at the conference and received several awards. Students participated in an itinerary filled with workshops and motivational speakers that encouraged leadership and effective communication.
Jackson serves as the state president of the Georgia Student Government Association (GSGA). Mathis represents the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and was awarded the Star of Knowledge pin for NTHS, first place for Organizational Behavior and Leadership, and second place for Foundations of Management for FBLA. Her awards qualify her to compete on the National Level at the FBLA National Leadership Conference.
Donald Masinde represented all three student organizations, receiving an award as the SGA Outstanding Student, Student of the Year-SGA, and first place for Public Speaking for FBLA. He also qualifies for competition in the FBLA National Leadership Conference.
“Each student’s positive example continues to motivate their peers and set the bard high for achievement,” said Courtney Watkins, CGTC’s FBLA advisor. “We are so proud of their accomplishments and will support them as they all continue to represent our college,” said Sidney Hall, CGTC’s FBLA advisor.
