CGTC ORTHO VECTR Accelerated Program Delivers 100% Pass Rate and Strong Workforce Outcomes for Military Families

March 3, 2026

Warner Robins, GA — Since its launch in February 2025, Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) ORTHO VECTR Accelerated Program at the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center, three cohorts of students have achieved a 100 percent pass rate on certification exams.

The successful year sets students on a clear career path, and reinforces CGTC’s commitment to high-quality, industry-responsive education. The strategic placement of the program in the Georgia VECTR Center allows veterans and their families access to an in-demand healthcare program.

In February 2026, the program completed its third cohort. To date, 21 students have completed the ORTHO VECTR Accelerated Program, and 100 percent of graduates have passed the Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) Exam. All participants earned scores of 70 or higher, with the highest score to date reaching above 90.

“These outcomes reflect the dedication of our students and the intentional design of this accelerated program,” said Crystal Black, Instructor and Program Chair for Orthopedic Technology at CGTC. “Our goal is to prepare students not just to pass an exam, but to enter the workforce confident, competent, and ready to make an immediate impact. Seeing our graduates succeed at this level affirms the quality and rigor of the ORTHO VECTR program.”

Beyond certification success, the ORTHO VECTR Accelerated Program is already producing measurable workforce results. Graduates have reported employment outcomes that highlight the program’s effectiveness as a talent pipeline for orthopedic care providers.

One graduate is employed as a Medical Assistant/Orthotech for Middle Georgia Orthopedics, assisting physicians with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections, a regenerative treatment that uses a patient’s own concentrated platelets to accelerate healing of tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints.

Two graduates at OrthoGeorgia are currently employed as Orthotechs, providing direct support in orthopedic patient care settings.

Another graduate secured employment at a VA Hospital in South Carolina as an Orthotech at the GS-6 federal level, earning $46,000–$48,000 annually, with a planned promotion to GS-7 within one year.

“These early employment outcomes demonstrate that our graduates are not only credentialed, but truly job-ready,” Black added. “Employers are recognizing the value of the training our students receive at CGTC.”

Collectively, these achievements underscore the ORTHO VECTR Accelerated Program’s growing reputation as a high-impact workforce development model, aligning accelerated instruction with employer needs, industry standards, and service to veterans and their families.

As demand continues to grow for skilled orthopedic professionals, CGTC remains committed to expanding pathways that lead directly to meaningful employment and career advancement.
