CGTC Named a 2025 Top Veteran-Friendly School by U.S. Veterans Magazine

November 10, 2025

Warner Robins, Ga. – U.S. Veterans Magazine (USVM) has named Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) among its 2025 Top Veteran-Friendly Schools and Top Yellow Ribbon Schools, recognizing the college’s outstanding commitment to serving veterans, active-duty military, and their families.

This annual recognition highlights higher education institutions that demonstrate exceptional support for military-connected students through academic programs, career services, financial assistance, and transition resources.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized once again as one of the nation’s top colleges for veterans,” said Dr. Janet Kelly, CGTC associate vice president for Enrollment Services, Marketing and Public Relations. “Our commitment to those who have served is reflected in every aspect of what we do, from academic advising and counseling to financial aid and career readiness. We are proud to help them achieve their educational and professional goals.”

One of the key approaches to veterans services at the College comes through its operation of the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR), located adjacent to Robins Air Force Base. In its nine years of operation, the Center has helped serve more than 165,000 military-connected people in education, community resources, career coaching, entrepreneurship, and more. $1300 Non-Member

Earning the Top Veteran-Friendly School designation places CGTC among a select group of institutions recognized nationally for creating inclusive, accessible, and supportive learning environments for military-affiliated students.

USVM evaluates schools based on factors such as veteran-specific programming, availability of GI Bill® and Yellow Ribbon benefits, dedicated veteran support staff, and overall campus culture.

As a Top Yellow Ribbon School, CGTC participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs initiative that helps cover tuition and fees not already covered by the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. This designation reflects CGTC’s proactive role in ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of a veteran’s education.
