Macon, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) is pleased to announce that its 2024 Commencement Ceremony will take place at the new, Atrium Health Amphitheater on Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m.
The College leadership welcomes the location change for this year’s graduation to continue the momentum of support for Macon-Bibb Counties’ improvements to the Eisenhower Boulevard and Macon Mall area; an area central to the College’s mission.
CGTC’s Macon Campus is the closest higher education institution to the Amphitheater. A backdrop of the College can be seen off to the right of the stage when seated at the venue. Leading the Technical College System of Georgia in the total number of graduates, year after year, means that this moment is significant for each student.
“Many of the students who will walk across the stage in the Atrium Health Amphitheater will hear their name called out to a community that may have doubted them or was perceived to have limited their potential,” Dr. Craig Jackson, vice president for Student Affairs. “Now it’s a reminder that CGTC is right here championing their educational and career goals. We are truly a college for our community.”
As the College once again prepares to honor the accomplishments of graduates, attendees are asked to consider the logistics for the new venue. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Guests should enter through the West Gate and graduates through the North Gate. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and graduate check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. The venue has a clear bag policy for all guests.

The Atrium Health Amphitheater is an outdoor venue, and the College monitors weather conditions hourly on event days. All events are rain or shine. Raincoats and ponchos are allowed, umbrellas are not allowed. If the College is advised by the National Weather Service to cancel, the College will move to an online format later.
