Warner Robins, Ga. — Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) earned recognition as one of the top colleges for online programs in nursing and allied health for 2025, as released by EduMed.org, a leading authority in student-focused college and career information.
For two-year colleges, CGTC ranked:
No. 1 for Best Online Nursing Programs in Georgia
No. 1 for Best Online Associate Nursing Degrees in Georgia
No. 1 for Best CNA Classes & Programs in Georgia
No. 2 for Best Online Medical Billing and Coding Schools in Georgia
No. 5 for Most Affordable Online Nursing Programs Nationwide
This prestigious ranking highlights CGTC’s commitment to delivering high-quality educational opportunities that prioritize student success and affordability. EduMed.org evaluated over 100 health-related subjects across various program levels, from entry-level diplomas to advanced doctorate degrees, to identify institutions that excel in quality, cost-effectiveness, online learning flexibility, and positive student outcomes.
“Being recognized among the best in the nation for our hybrid and online allied health programs is a tremendous honor,” said dean of Distance Learning, Dr. Cynthia Rumney. “This achievement reflects our dedicated faculty, comprehensive curriculum, and the supportive environment we provide for our students. We strive to equip our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the healthcare field.”
CGTC offers a diverse array of online programs designed to meet the needs of today’s students. Nursing is not a fully online program, but EduMed.org considers programs offering online lecture courses and on-site clinical courses as a part of their ranking.
EduMed.org researched and analyzed more than 7,700 accredited schools using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and from the schools themselves. The website’s data science team then applied a proprietary algorithm to rank all qualifying schools for each healthcare discipline. Primary data points include:
· Number of online programs
· Average in-state tuition
· Percent of total students taking at least one distance education class
· Amount of institutional grant aid awarded to students
· Student/faculty ratio
· Percent of full-time student completion – 6 years
· Academic counseling
· Career placement
To be eligible for ranking consideration, a school must hold active regional accreditation and have at least one partially online program in the ranking subject.
EduMed.org spoke to how College’s recognized in the ranking meet the need for healthcare professionals. As the demand for skilled healthcare professionals continues to rise, CGTC remains committed to ensuring that students receive a top-tier education that prepares them for successful careers in this critical industry.
The College’s focus on affordability and accessibility also makes it an attractive option for those looking to advance their education without incurring significant debt.
