Warner Robins, Ga. – A Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Dual Enrollment student at Houston County College & Career Academy (HCCCA) was named Student of the Year for College and Career Academies across the state.

Georgia Power Foundation Awards $4,250 Grant to CGTC Adult Education Partner, Help Network Inc.

Warner Robins, Ga. – Literacy initiatives at the Hawkinsville Workforce Development Center (HWDC), where Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) houses Adult Education Division (AED) programs alongside its partner, Help Network Inc., recently received a boost in funding thanks to a $4,250 grant from the Georgia Power Foundation.

Fort Valley, Ga. – Technicians from all over North America spent the beginning of November at Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Peach County Workforce Development Center taking part in Bluebird’s Factory Based Technician Training, set in motion by the Economic Development Division of the College.

Georgia VECTR Center Welcomes More Room to Help Veterans

Warner Robins, Ga. – The long-term commitment to veterans never wavers for the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center, and soon the completion of its building expansion will extend new career training opportunities their way.
Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC), the administrative unit for the VECTR Center, has announced that construction has progressed according to schedule and is slated to be complete in December.
Construction began in June for two industrial lab spaces attached to the current building’s east-end and one mixed use building adjacent to the Commercial Truck Driving (CTD) pad to the south of the Center. Read More

Initial Accreditation Granted to CGTC Nursing Programs

Warner Robins, Ga. – As of this month, vital signs for the associate degree and practical nursing diploma programs in the Health Sciences Division at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) are all clear, after having been awarded initial accreditation by the Board of Commissioners for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

New Agreement To Ease Student Transfers Between CGTC And MGA

Thanks to a new formal agreement, Central Georgia Technical College students who complete that institution’s Associate of Science in General Studies can now more easily transfer into a bachelor’s degree program at Middle Georgia State University.
Leaders at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and Middle Georgia State (MGA) signed an articulation agreement on Thursday, Oct. 24, which provides graduates of that specific program a clear pathway to a four-year degree. CGTC students who complete the associate’s degree are eligible to transfer credit provided they meet MGA’s admissions requirements. Read More

Nursing Student-Led Bone Marrow Drive Earns $1300 Grant from DKMS

Warner Robins, Ga. – DKMS, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and disorders, recently announced Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Nursing Division students as one of only six student groups nationwide to earn a $1,300 grant for their involvement in hosting a donor drive.

Robins AFB Reports on Military Spouses Earning Certificate, License with CGTC Economic Development

Warner Robins, Ga. – Robins Air Force Base recently reported that seven military spouses at the base graduated with their Certified Nursing Assistant licenses from Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) through the grant-based program.

The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation Awards $100,000 to Georgia VECTR Center

Warner Robins, Ga. – The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation’s Overwatch Fund announced a $100,000 grant to the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center to create veteran employment opportunities through the establishment of the VECTR Center’s Electrical Construction Lab (ECL).
With the award, the VECTR Center will be able to offer an electrical technician accelerated training program at the Center, where construction is ongoing for an additional 11,000sq. ft. in Phase 2 expansion on the property set to open in January 2020. Read More
