CGTC Aircraft Structural Technology Graduates Find Employment with Gulfstream

Warner Robins, Ga. – An urgent hiring need recently brought Gulfstream Aerospace to Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and after interviews with candidates in the Aircraft Structural Technology (AST) program, seven students have earned employment.
Elvis Nguyen, Hunter Williams, Colton McKinney, each earned employment with the aircraft manufacturing company earlier this year, and now, after return recruitment efforts of the company, Ryan Banks, Spencer Daniely, Major Lynwood, and Dexter Osayamah will start in January.

Georgia VECTR Center Offers Breakfast and Free Haircuts to Veterans

Warner Robins, Ga. – Waves of appreciative veterans lined up for breakfast burritos and free haircuts, at the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center on Thursday, and at least for one, it came as a healthy serving of the unique work of the Center.
Patrick Flaherty, 32, served in the Air Force for 12 years, 11months, and 22 days. He spent time stationed in Germany, Valdosta, Ga., and at the end of June of this year he retired and relocated from Arizona to Warner Robins. Read More

CGTC Dual Enrollment Students Compete in Area Skills Competition

Warner Robins, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Dual Enrollment students from area high schools competed in the second annual Skills Challenge in early November, helping to promote construction trades and bring recognition to their acquisition of trade skills.

Economic Development at CGTC Continues to Meet Industry Demands for Training

Warner Robins, Ga. – As workforce training becomes a higher priority for companies growing in the central Georgia region, the Economic Development Division of Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) accounted for 46 percent of the customized contract training hours delivered in the state.

Warner Robins, Ga. – Greeting cards designed by Rhonda Miller, winner of the 2017 GED® Graduate of Outstanding Achievement for Georgia, sell without inspirational messages on the inside. Miller, a 1992 graduate of the Adult Education program at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC), did not get her greeting card business off the ground until the beginning of the decade, but now with recognition of her entrepreneurial spirit by her peers, she is hoping her story might inspire the message someone writes in the card. CGTC Board of Directors Welcomes Two New Members

Warner Robins, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) recently welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors, one with a special link to the College and another representing one of the region’s largest employers.
Mayor Eric S. Wilson of the city of Forsyth, Ga., and Gina Keadle, chief human resources officer at Navicent Health, joined the group which oversees the growth of the College for its 11-county service area.
