Warner Robins, Ga. — The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) women’s basketball team will face off against State Fair College in Lake Charles, Louisiana, in the first round of the 2026 NAtional Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division-1 Women’s Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, March 25 at 11 am EST.
Labeled a Cinderella by the NJCAA broadcast of the tournament bracket release and selection show, the Titans enter the tournament seeded 24th out of 24 teams, but are ready to compete.

“We’ve been excited about what this recruiting class and returning players could achieve all year long,” said head coach John Gordon. “This entire year has been a success from a very high team GPA, a 20-plus win season, and now the very first conference championship in school history.”
Coach Gordon, who has led the Titans to the national tournament in his second year, added that earning a spot is surreal and humbling to the entire team.
“I’m just happy for these kids, the faculty and staff who support them, and CGTC as a community,” he said.
The Titans held a watch party on Monday evening to await their seeding in the tournament. Their matchup with State Fair College is primed to be a high-scoring game, as both teams rank high nationally in points per game, with CGTC fourth nationally.
Led by Lyric Green, a first-team all-conference selection, and Amira Walters-Smith, a second-team all-conference performer in 2026, the Titans average 84.4 points per game.
The Titans earned the tournament bid by winning the 2026 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) championship on Friday night in Americus, Georgia, over host and No. 1 seed, South Georgia Technical College. The 2026 GCAA Championship is the program’s first conference championship in NJCAA Division-1.
