CGTC REACH Organization is Collecting Donations for Macon Warming Center

February 9, 2021

Macon, Ga. – Throughout February, the College’s Raising Expectations of Achievement (REACH) program is collecting coats, socks, blankets and other warm apparel for donation to the Brookdale Warming Center in Macon.

This year’s donation drive is in partnership with the Macon-Bibb 4-H program and its Sock Across America initiative.

The CGTC REACH Organization, a minority-serving program predominately geared for male students of color, regularly takes an active role in volunteering and community service. As a part of each student’s membership in the organization, experiences like donation drives are encouraged.

“It is empowering to motivate and provide students with fulfilling opportunities to volunteer and give back,” said REACH program specialist, Rolandria Tolbert. “The reality is that this simple act of kindness can make a big impact in our community and in our hearts.”

Donations are already coming in from the CGTC community. Dropbox locations are available on the Macon campus in J-Building in front of the Admissions Office, in the Warner Robins campus Watson Building Lobby, and the Milledgeville campus A-Building Admissions Office.

Volunteer opportunities to serve at the Brookdale Warming Station are also available.
