Adult Education Division at CGTC Looks for Friendly Input at Upcoming Conversation and Lunch: A Houston County Literacy Month Initiative

September 15, 2020

Warner Robins, Ga. – A lot can be accomplished over lunch with students, staff and community friends; that’s why students and staff from Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Adult Education program, alongside citizens of Houston County, will host a conversation over lunch to learn about its programs and pathways into college credit.

Each One…Reach One …Your Voice Matters, a COVID-19 friendly event funded from the Conversion to Action Grant, will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Roy H. “Sonny” Watson Health Sciences Building on the CGTC Warner Robins campus.

The CGTC Adult Education Division is partnering with the Community Foundation of Central Georgia to host the event geared towards providing an opportunity for students and community leaders to voice their opinions about the State of Literacy in Houston County and the impact of community partnerships on program recruitment, retention and sustainability.

Students and community partners have been invited to lend their voices to a conversation that addresses reaching prospective students and future community partners.

Virginia Scott Falkner, a 2019 GED graduate and EAGLE Award Winner as the Division’s student of the year, will be featured to share her success story and her continued efforts to recruit and promote the CGTC Adult Education Program.

Limited attendance is available as event organizers adhere to social distancing guidelines. Virtual attendance is available through the WebEx information here:
