Warner Robins, Ga.  – Military Times announced its Best for Vets: Colleges 2019 rankings this week and Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) once again finds itself among the nation’s top military-serving institutions.

Cosmetology Program at CGTC Organizes Yard Sale Fundraiser for Veterans

Macon, Ga. – Continuing in its tradition of fall fundraisers for community organizations, the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Cosmetology program is putting together a yard sale benefitting Macon’s Homeport Veterans Transition Home. First-Ever Scholarship at Georgia VECTR Center Awarded to Veteran

Warner Robins, Ga. – Adding financial resources for education to its one-stop-shop for veterans, the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center presented its first-ever scholarship last week to a former Army officer.

Aviation Maintenance Program at CGTC Welcomes First Female Instructor

Warner Robins, Ga. – What came about as nothing more than a woman’s mechanical intuition, sparked a 17-year career in the male-dominated field of aviation maintenance (AVMT) for Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC)’s first female program instructor, Deanne Corbin.

CGTC Names Wykesia Stafford 2018 GOAL Winner

Georgia VECTR Center Offers Breakfast and Free Haircuts to Veterans

Warner Robins, Ga. – Waves of appreciative veterans lined up for breakfast burritos and free haircuts, at the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center on Thursday, and at least for one, it came as a healthy serving of the unique work of the Center.
Patrick Flaherty, 32, served in the Air Force for 12 years, 11months, and 22 days. He spent time stationed in Germany, Valdosta, Ga., and at the end of June of this year he retired and relocated from Arizona to Warner Robins. Read More

CGTC Cosmetology to Host Fundraiser for Veterans

Milledgeville, Ga. – The Cosmetology program at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) will host a Fall Fundraiser on the College’s Milledgeville campus Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the H-Building. All Proceeds from the event benefit the Georgia War Veteran’s Home in Milledgeville.
Fundraising for local charities occurs annually for the Cosmetology program. Last year’s super-hero themed fundraiser benefiting pediatric cancer helped the program reach over $20,000 in the six years it has raised funds. Read More
