Aviation Maintenance Program at CGTC Welcomes First Female Instructor

Warner Robins, Ga. – What came about as nothing more than a woman’s mechanical intuition, sparked a 17-year career in the male-dominated field of aviation maintenance (AVMT) for Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC)’s first female program instructor, Deanne Corbin.
Corbin, a former student at the College, started her journey through the Aerospace, Trade and Industry program in the late 90’s at CGTC in Macon. This happened just as the then, pre-merger, Middle Georgia Technical College Aviation Maintenance program in Warner Robins got off the ground. Read More

First Cohort of Associate Degree Nursing Students Set to Graduate

Warner Robins, Ga. – Student nurses at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) put their final hours of clinicals behind them last week, and now look ahead to graduation as the College’s first Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree cohort.

“We all learned a lot through this, and we maintain high hopes that each of these students will continue on to be the great nurses we know they are,” said program chair, Jessica Willcox, whom the College hired in 2014 along with a small group of instructors to see the Registered Nursing (RN) program hit the ground.
