Radiologic Technology Student Appointed President of State Student Government Association, a CGTC First

Macon, Ga. – Roshon Jackson, a Radiologic Technology student at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) was recently named the president of the Georgia Student Government Association (GSGA) at the Technical College System of Georgia’s (TCSG) State Officer Training & Planning Committee Retreat at Unicoi State Park in June.  

He is currently attending clinical rotations at Piedmont Macon Medical Center in Macon. Jackson takes on this new role, while also serving as class president for his Radiologic Technology and a local member of the Student Government Association (SGA) at CGTC where he serves as vice president-student officer.  Read More

SkillsUSA Competitors from CGTC Return to Campus with Gold Medal in Hand

Warner Robins, Ga. – Members of the SkillsUSA student organization at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) recently brought home their first gold medal in the Chapter Display category of the SkillsUSA Nationals competition.
Thomas Butler, Alison Crumb, and QaNeshia Mays earned gold by building a three-dimensional display that articulates the annual theme for the organization’s national competition, “Champions at Work, Job Ready Day One,” held in Louisville, Ky.
The team built an intricate, rotating, octagonal, three-dimensional model with two computer monitors.  Read More

Student Barber Competes at SkillsUSA Competition as CGTC’s First Representative

Macon, Ga. – In less than a month, Lyncetta Coleman will be one of many Barbering program students to walk across the stage at graduation, but in March, she was the first program student to test her abilities at the SkillsUSA Georgia barbering competition for Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC).
As one of only two females in her cohort, she said she was thrilled to carry the clippers for both gender and program to compete in the student skills organization’s first barbering events. Read More
