New agreement between CGTC and GSW smooths transition for Information Technology students

Warner Robins, GA – Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) and Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) are partnering to provide new educational opportunities to students in an essential career field in today’s workforce. Hutchings College and Career Academy, CGTC, Perdue Foods Celebrate Work-Ready Students

Macon, Ga – William S. Hutchings College and Career Academy (HCCA), Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and Perdue Foods Perry Cook Facility (Perdue Foods) celebrated the full-time employment of two recent graduates with a signing ceremony on Friday, October 9, at 1 p.m. The event was held at the Robert J. Williams Complex, 1780 Anthony Road in Macon.
The two graduates, James Jordan of Westside High School and Maurice Woodford of Howard High School, were among the first students to participate in the Industrial Systems Technology (IST) Pathway that launched last summer. Read More

New Online Cybersecurity Certificate Programs Being Offered During CGTC Fall Semester

Warner Robins, Ga. – This fall, Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) will begin offering two fully online Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC) in one of the nation’s fastest growing industries, opening gateways to careers of the future.

Georgia VECTR Center Welcomes More Room to Help Veterans

Warner Robins, Ga. – The long-term commitment to veterans never wavers for the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center, and soon the completion of its building expansion will extend new career training opportunities their way.
Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC), the administrative unit for the VECTR Center, has announced that construction has progressed according to schedule and is slated to be complete in December.
Construction began in June for two industrial lab spaces attached to the current building’s east-end and one mixed use building adjacent to the Commercial Truck Driving (CTD) pad to the south of the Center. Read More

CGTC and Wesleyan College Sign First Articulation Agreement

Macon, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) continued its stride for associate degree credit transfer this week by signing its first articulation agreement with Wesleyan College. The agreement designates pathways for CGTC’s new General Studies associate degree into four-year programs at Wesleyan.
Articulation agreements allow students to benefit from the seamless transfer of credit earned at one institution into programs at another, often reducing cost and encouraging further pursuit of higher education, personal growth, and career advancement. Read More

CGTC Instructor Named Finalist for Georgia Department of Corrections Vocational Instructor of the Year

Warner Robins, Ga. – In June, the Georgia Department of Corrections named John S. Harvey, Business Customer Service and Technology instructor, a finalist for its 2017 Vocational Instructor of the Year. Harvey, a nine-year veteran of correction education, works in Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Office of Re-entry Services at Johnson State Prison – an unexpected teaching environment – living out his passion to help others find their way in life.

CGTC Dual Enrollment Students Sign for Employment with Frito-Lay

Warner Robins, Ga.  – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Industrial Maintenance Dual Enrollment students at the Houston County Career Academy (HCCA) took part in a Manufacturing Signing Day event last week, committing their futures to full-time work at Frito-Lay, and the pursuit of associate’s degrees as industrial mechanics.
