COVID-19 Reporting Data

Central Georgia Technical College remains committed to the health and safety of students and employees, as well as campus visitors. In order to keep the College community informed, CGTC will provide weekly updates on the number of self-reported positive COVID-19 cases.

This page is meant to provide baseline information for the College community and should not be considered scientific data. The College has protocols in place for both employee and student self-reporting and remains in constant contact with local health officials, Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) leadership, and the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) to ensure accurate implementation of the latest health and safety guidelines related to COVID-19.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • The College will only report cases which are self-reported by those within the College community.
  • Positive cases are counted based on the date the positive case is reported to the College, not the date of the positive COVID-19 test.
  • The data will be updated each week on Monday by 5:00 p.m. and totals will be shown by month at the end of each month.

Definitions & Clarification

Positive Cases: Positive cases at CGTC are based on self-reported data. Once an individual reports a COVID-19 impact, the College’s Exposure Control Coordinator (students), or HR Department (employees), will work to determine and report details.

*Positive case numbers may include students who are enrolled exclusively in online classes and/or employees who are working remotely.

Monthly Totals: Monthly totals include cumulative data for the month indicated.

Instructional Sites: Data for Instructional Sites include reported cases for physical instructional sites other than CGTC’s three campuses. These sites include the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center; adult education sites and other training sites across CGTC’s 11-county service area; career academies in Baldwin, Bibb, Houston, Jones, and Putnam counties; approved Georgia Department of Corrections and Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice instructional sites; and satellite center locations in Crawford, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, and Putnam counties.

Privacy

The College is sensitive to the privacy of students and employees. For this reporting, the College intends to keep the public informed by sharing relevant data while maintaining the privacy of sensitive health information for individual students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.

Contact Tracing & Notification

CGTC has a working relationship with the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH). The College’s Exposure Control Coordinator regularly works with DPH to facilitate information sharing and to provide data related to self-reported cases. DPH may contact students and employees directly to provide notification and to conduct contact tracing.
