August 2, 2018

Warner Robins, Ga. – The CHSGa Practical Nursing Scholarship is a new scholarship that became available this summer to students in the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) thanks to a fund created by CHSGa. CHSGa, a non-profit healthcare system, presented the College’s Foundation with a $6,000 check to provide scholarships to qualified students enrolled in the LPN program.

CHSGA established their Practical Nursing Scholarship in support of students in the diploma program in pursuit of entry-level careers. Each fall, spring and summer semester, eligible students may be awarded a scholarship up to $400. Funds aid students in the cost for tuition, books, supplies and any other related educational expenses.

CHSGa is a non-profit healthcare system working with service delivery lines that provide skilled nursing care, hospice care, home health services, transitional care services, acute care, rehabilitation therapy, pharmacy services, medical supply distribution, mobile imaging, and emergency transportation services.

“Our mission is providing Georgia direct access to health services. Through the CHSGa Practical Nursing Scholarship, we can help a student achieve his or her educational and career goals. This scholarship is an important part of fulfilling our commitment to workforce growth and development within the healthcare profession,” says Ronnie Rollins, president, and CEO of CHSGa.

CHSGa represented by Sandy Eskew Capps, director of Academic Relations for the organization; Keitta Evans, vice president of Clinical Practice; Chap Nelson, administrator at Gray Health & Rehabilitation in Gray, Ga.; and Leslie Coleman, administrator at Cherry Blossom Health & Rehabilitation in Macon, presented the check to the Foundation and faculty from the Practical Nursing program.
