Warner Robins, Ga. – In June, the Georgia Department of Corrections named John S. Harvey, Business Customer Service and Technology instructor, a finalist for its 2017 Vocational Instructor of the Year. Perdue Farms to Host Pre-Screening Event for Industrial Mechanic Apprenticeships at CGTC

Warner Robins, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Aerospace, Trade and Industry program recently completed an agreement with Perdue Farms to offer an industrial systems apprenticeship program, and now the search is on to fill these positions with qualified candidates in middle Georgia.

Northside High School Senior Earns Recognition for Artwork in Statewide Manufacturer’s Appreciation Design Contest

Warner Robins, Ga. – A Northside High School student earned honorable mention recognition in the 2018 Manufacturing Appreciation Week (MAW) student art design contest. Basic Construction Skills Continuing Education Course Coming to CGTC’s Putnam County Center

Warner Robins, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Putnam County Center and Economic Development Division have crafted a customized course in response to the construction workforce needs of Putnam County.
Beginning February 26, 2018, the Center will offer the Basic Construction Craft Laborer Skills, a four-week course delivered each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost of the course is $475 per participant, but qualified applicants may take the course free of charge through Work Source Georgia grant funding. CGTC Dual Enrollment Students Form Part of MidSouth Community FCU Student-Run Branch

Warner Robins, Ga. – Last week the Bibb County School District (BCSD) and MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union (MCFCU) held a ribbon cutting for the opening of MCFCU’s student-run branch at the William H. Hutchings College and Career Academy (HCCA), whose part-time student-employees feature three Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) dual enrollment students.

CGTC Maintenance Program at Two Georgia Prisons Sees Early Success

Warner Robins, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and its Office of Re-Entry Services recently began a pilot Maintenance Electrical Plumbing (MEP) program at Wilcox and Whitworth State Prisons; and in just a few short months, it has already seen participants meet standards.

Economic Development at CGTC Continues to Meet Industry Demands for Training

Warner Robins, Ga. – As workforce training becomes a higher priority for companies growing in the central Georgia region, the Economic Development Division of Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) accounted for 46 percent of the customized contract training hours delivered in the state.
