Financial Aid Authorizations Information
Students may authorize use of Georgia HOPE Book Awards to pay student charges other than tuition, registration, activities, and accident insurance fees. Students must authorize Federal PELL or SOEG Grant Awards to pay student charges other than tuition and registration, activities, accident insurance, technology, and malpractice fees. Authorization is done online through BannerWeb. If a student chooses not to authorize the payment of the charges not automatically covered the student is responsible for paying the charges.
Note: If the student is not awarded or eligible for the Financial Aid Awards authorized the student is responsible for the charges. To check your financial aid awards refer to: BannerWeb, Financial Aid section, your award letter, or contact the Financial Aid Office.
To go to the Student Authorization for Charges:
- Enter BannerWeb using your Banner ID and PIN.
- Click Student Services, Financial Aid, and Registration.
- Click Student Authorization for Charges and follow the links for HOPE and Pell.

HOPE Authorizations
The $35.00 Technology Fee is not automatically paid by the Georgia HOPE
Grant, Scholarship or Accel.
Students must authorize Central Georgia Technical College to use their Georgia Student
Financial Aid Funds (Georgia HOPE Grant, Scholarship or Accel
Book Allowance) to pay the $35.00 Technology Fee.
The authorization will reduce the amount of your HOPE book voucher by $35.00.
This authorization has the same effect as your written signature.
The student, may:
- Choose not to submit this authorization and therefore, you agree to pay all charges not
covered by your student financial aid by the payment deadline each quarter.
- Cancel an authorization for the upcoming quarter. The cancellation must be submitted in writing to the Business Office.
Federal Student Aid Authorizations
Allowable charges other than tuition and student fees that are not automatically paid by
Federal Student Aid Funds (PELL Grant and SEOG) that require your authorization include: Application
Fee, Late Fee, Parking Fines and CGTC Childcare fees.
The amount of your financial aid refund will be reduced by the amount
of these charges.
The student, may:
- Choose not to submit this authorization and therefore, you agree to pay all charges not
covered by your student financial aid by the payment deadline each quarter.
- Cancel an authorization for the upcoming quarter. The cancellation must be submitted in writing to the Business Office.
The Student Authorization for Charges online process has the effect as your written signature. For more information regarding your awards paying for your charges, contact the Financial Aid Office. The authorization is required one time only.
