Admission
Requirements
Age
All applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Applicants for Cosmetology and Health Technology programs must
be 17 years of age or older.
Education
A high school diploma/GED is required for applicants for all associate of applied science degree programs and for most diploma and certificate programs. To be considered a high school graduate for admission purposes, you must have passed the graduation test and received a diploma (does not include a certificate of attendance or special education diploma.) If these requirements are not met, completion of GED is required. Requirements vary according to program of study. A high school diploma/GED is desirable, but is not an entrance requirement for all programs. All Business and Health Technology programs require high school graduation/GED prior to admission. Prior to graduation from CGTC, all students must have documented graduation from high school or the equivalent.
Placement Tests
Applicants may be required to take the COMPASS placement exam or submit a valid SAT, ACT, or CPE scores. Tests must have been taken within the last five years and are valid for five years. COMPASS score requirements vary by program. For other exams, the minimum scores are as follows:
