You can access your CGTC student e-mail at http://studentmail.centralgatech.edu.
Student E-mail Account
All CGTC students have an e-mail account. Find out your account information! You will need your BannerWeb login and PIN to check your account information.
Student E-mail User Name
Each student's User Name is unique and is computer-generated. The only way to determine your User Name is to enter the Secure Student Area, because we do not follow a standardized naming scheme in order to avoid duplicates with other students that have similar names/initials.
When you enter your User Name to log into the portal, only type the part of the e-mail account that comes before @student.centralgatech.edu. For example, the User Name for gwbush@student.centralgatech.edu is gwbush.
Student E-mail Password
Your CGTC student e-mail account password is initially set to your birthdate in MMDDYYYY format.
NOTE: If you change your BannerWeb PIN, it will not change your e-mail account password. Likewise, if you change your e-mail account password, it will not change your BannerWeb PIN.
 Your Blackboard, BannerWeb, and CGTC student e-mail accounts are listed in three separate databases, and changing one password will not change the others!
We recommend you change your passwords from your birthdate to another password that you can remember for security purposes.

What if I forget my CGTC student e-mail account password?
If you forget your CGTC student e-mail account, Fill out an online Technical Support Form or call support at (478) 757-3519. We will need your Student ID, name, and birthdate. We may also ask you a security question if one exists on your record.
What if I my last name changes?
If your last name changes, please contact the Registrar's Office to process your official name change. Once the database reflects your new name, the Information Technology Team will be happy to change your User Name to a more suitable one. Please fill out an online Technical Support Form or contact support@student.centralgatech.edu, or call support at (478) 757-3519. We will need your Student ID, previous name/new name, and birthdate. We may also ask you a security question if one exists on your record.
I already have a AOL, Yahoo! , Hotmail or other third-party account. I don't want to have to check another account. Can I forward my email to my other account?
Yes. Follow these instructions:

Log into the CGTC student email portal at http://studentmail.centralgatech.edu.

Select the Options link.

Under Mail Handling, select Email Forwarding.

Choose a forwarding option. You may forward all your email to another email address and optionally keep a copy in your CGTC Student Email mailbox too.

Enter one or more email addresses separated by commas.

Click Save.

Student Email Policy
Email is the official medium for communication with students at Central
Georgia Technical College. Each registered student is assigned an
official email address by the college. Students are expected to maintain
their accounts and check their email regularly so that new mail will be
properly received and read. Certain communications may be time critical.
While students may redirect email from their official college
email address to another address (e.g., @hotmail.com, @aol.com), the
college is not responsible for the delivery of email by other service
providers. Use of student email accounts should be in accordance with
appropriate conduct as described in the Student Handbook and the
Acceptable Computer and Internet Use policy. Any student who does
not own a personal computer or who does not have an Internet service
provider may access his or her email account from the library or from
other designated computers at any of Central Georgia Technical
College’s locations.
