ACCOUNTABILITY AND EVALUATION OF PROGRESS
Accountability – Central Georgia Technical College plays a pivotal role in support of the area’s economic growth and development. The availability of a highly skilled, competent workforce is an essential factor in the ability of business and industry to experience continued growth, expansion, and technical advancement. Central Georgia Technical College’s return-on-investment to the area’s communities is evident through immediate effects on students and through a multiplier effect apparent in economic growth and community development.
Central Georgia Technical College has a strong history of emphasizing accountability to its customers, constituents, and stakeholders by making efficient use of public funds and striving to manage the resources at our command effectively to produce greater results. Historically, Central Georgia Technical College’s accountability to the taxpayer has been outstanding coupled with funding that has remained relatively constant while the quality and quantity of our programs and services has grown rapidly. Currently, Central Georgia Technical College measures and reports its results to the local Board of Directors and The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) through the Performance Accountability System (PAS) and through other formalized statewide accountability reports.
Evaluation – Central Georgia Technical College will use at least three evaluation processes as components in its integrated annual institutional effectiveness process: the measurement and analysis of college-wide strategic progress, the measurement and analysis of unit and program-level effectiveness, and the reporting and review of the Technical College System of Georgia’s Performance Accountability System (PAS) self-evaluation measurements. The Central Georgia Technical College evaluation process will involve evaluation of the progress of the institution and its units in implementing the strategic plan and in achieving the desired results delineated in this plan. Results of the evaluation processes will be used to plan improvements and will contribute to the situational analyses for annual strategic plan updates and for major redevelopment of the strategic planning efforts every third year.
