Commissioner Vollmer visits CGTC

Commissioner Mike Vollmer from the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education visited the Macon Campus of Central Georgia Technical College on Monday, April 25, 2005. The full day included a tour of the campus and various programs, a small group Q&A session with students, a presentation to one of the local Rotary clubs and concluded with a meeting with staff and faculty. Local NBC affiliate, Channel 41 televised an interview with Commissioner Vollmer.

Brian Mate, Carpentry and Cabinet Making Program Chair, points out materials used with the Computer Numerically Controlled Equipment.

Charlie Jackson, Automotive Technology Program Chair, gives Commissioner Vollmer an overview of diagnostic equipment used for instruction.

Supervising clinical dentist, Dr. Harvey Zion, was available at the Dental Lab to discuss accomplishments of the CGTC dental program.

A few laughs were shared with Commissioner Vollmer after a meeting with staff and faculty from Macon, Milledgeville, Putnam, and Crawford locations.
