Andrea Griner Joins Central Georgia Technical College Office of Economic Development
Andrea Griner has recently joined the staff of Central Georgia Technical College as a Project Manager with the College’s Office of Economic Development. Griner brings with her a great deal of experience in economic development from her previous position with the Houston County Development Authority.
“Dr. Allen and I are pleased that Ms. Griner accepted the position with the College,” said Becky Lee, vice president for Economic Development for Central Georgia Technical College. “She will definitely be an asset to the team because of her extensive work in the field of economic development.”
Griner is a graduate of the University of Georgia and most recently worked as Projects Manager for the Houston County Development Authority for over six years. Additionally, in December 2013, she earned the designation of Certified Economic Developer from the International Economic Development Council.
In her new role, Griner will primarily work at CGTC’s Warner Robins campus. Her responsibilities include working with a variety of businesses to identify training needs and develop training programs to meet employers’ needs for a skilled workforce. Moreover, she assists community leaders in the recruitment of new businesses and the expansion of existing industries.
“Working closely with Central Georgia Technical College for so many years, I understand the critical role the college plays in developing our region’s highly skilled workforce,” said Griner. “The positive impact of this workforce is evidenced by the success of existing industries throughout our region. It is such an exciting opportunity to join the team at CGTC and I look forward to assisting with economic development projects and continuing my work with existing industries.”
