YKK and CGTC Partnership

YKK and Central Georgia Technical College partnered for mechanical apprentice training. Three YKK employees, Ernest Bush from Macon, Steve Patterson from Milledgeville, and John Wantz from Warner Robins, recently completed six months of studies at CGTC and were presented the MT11, Mechanical Technician technical certificate at an Awards Luncheon hosted by YKK.

The development of the specialized curriculum and training program is an ongoing cooperative effort between CGTC and YKK. The mechanical apprentice employees are selected from CGTC students. The apprentices chosen then co-op work three days per week and attend school two days per week for two quarters. YKK expects to maintain three to five student/employees at all times in the program.
