CGTC & MGTC Partner with TIMCO for Co-op Program
MACON – Central Georgia Technical College and Middle Georgia Technical College will sign a memorandum of agreement with Triad International Maintenance Corporation (TIMCO), at a ceremony on October 18.
The agreement will provide eligible students at both colleges with the opportunity to participate in a cooperative educational program gaining supervised, hands-on work experience in repairs and inspections of commercial aircraft.
"This partnership provides a win-win opportunity for all involved," said Dr. Amy Holloway, interim vice president for academic affairs at CGTC. "The agreement would allow our students to earn wages while gaining work-based experience that count towards completing their college diploma. TIMCO will benefit from training a skilled pool of aerospace maintenance and structural workers."
To become eligible, students must complete two semesters of required Aircraft Structural Technology courses while maintaining a B average or better. Once admitted to the co-op program, students will be paid as an employee of TIMCO while completing specialized courses at MGTC and CGTC.
TIMCO is one of the world's largest independent aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul providers, supporting leading global airlines, governments and aircraft leasing companies with comprehensive aircraft care services. TIMCO-Macon specializes in airframe MRO for narrow body cargo and commercial aircraft.
Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement by officials will take place on October 18th at 1 pm at TIMCO, located at 150 East Drive in Macon.
