Elison to attend EAGLE Leadership Institute

Alonzo Elison has been chosen to represent Central Georgia Technical College at the Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) Leadership Institute February 13-15, 2012. The Leadership Institute recognizes and honors those students who have demonstrated superior achievement in adult education classes and programs.

Elison, a native of Cordele, earned his GED from CGTC’s Adult Education Program in May 2011. Elison is currently studying at Georgia Military College, where he is pursuing an Associate Degree in General Studies and maintains a 3.5 or above grade point average. His long term goals are to earn a doctorate in Sociology and teach Sociology.

EAGLE is the first statewide program in the nation that recognizes and rewards excellence among students enrolled in adult education programs. This student recognition program is designed to create greater awareness of educational opportunities that are available in local communities across the state and to foster greater involvement in lifelong learning pursuits.

The Technical College System of Georgia through its Office of Adult Education sponsors the annual EAGLE Leadership Institute.
