CGTC Challenge 5K Road Race a success

On April 9 the CGTC Foundation held the first annual CGTC Challenge 5K Road Race at the Milledgeville Campus. Seventy runners and walkers participated in the race and awards were given to the top three finishers in each age group. Stained glass cougar awards were also given to the Overall Male, Overall Female, Masters Male, and Masters Female finishers. Brione Burrows, the CGTC employee with the fastest time, was named the CGTC Champion.

Through the generosity of our sponsors and participants, the Foundation grossed over $5,260 for student scholarships. Some of the funds raised will be used to establish a scholarship in memory of Tim Jenkins, a former CGTC employee who recently passed away.

Special thanks to the race committee members Robbie Parks, Carrie Dietrich, Jan Harrington, and Bonnie Murphey who spent the last several months planning the race.
