Tydings to Serve as Interim President

Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Ron Jackson has named Dr. Flora Tydings, the president of Athens Technical College, as the interim president of Central Georgia Technical College in Macon. The temporary assignment is effective on July 1.

Tydings will lead CGTC until the commissioner’s selection of a new president is approved by the state board that oversees the TCSG. The current president of CGTC, Dr. Ronald Natale, has been reassigned to the TCSG system office in Atlanta.

A general timetable for the search and selection process for the next president of CGTC will be announced at a later date.

Jackson has also appointed Dr. Sheila Weldon as the acting president of Athens Technical College until Dr. Tydings returns. Weldon, a recently-retired vice president for institutional effectiveness at Athens Technical College, has a long association with the college, its students and the communities it serves.
