Central Georgia Technical College announced a joint partnership with the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) and Resource Development Systems (RDS) to offer Central Georgia area managers and leaders the Certified Manager (CM™) certification program.
ICPM, a leading management development and leadership educator for over 35 years, created the CM program for managers, supervisors, and leaders to develop essential skills needed to effectively lead and manage in today’s workplace. RDS, a highly recognized organizational performance consulting firm, will partner with ICPM to administer the CM certification program at Central Georgia Technical College.
“For several decades, the CM certification has been the leading management and leadership development program,” said Dr. Robert Reid, Executive Director, ICPM and Dean of the James Madison University, College of Business. “By partnering with CGTC and RDS, we are excited about the career advancement opportunities CM certification can offer managers and leaders throughout Central Georgia.”
The year-long CM program will offer a comprehensive curriculum that covers foundational management skills that include planning, organizing, leadership, and controlling. As part of the CM certification, assessment exams will be administered to validate learning and confirm a level of managerial competency. Participants that successfully complete the program will benefit from increased knowledge and skills that support enhanced job performance. Certificants also receive the highly sought after “CM” professional credential – a credential that is recognized worldwide among the business community.
“The addition of the CM certification program to our current course offerings supports CGTC’s commitment to providing instruction for management professionals to reach their educational and certification goals,” said Becky Lee, Vice President of Economic Development, Central Georgia Technical College. “By providing the CM program, we are positioning our students to succeed in the management and leadership of manufacturing and service organizations – skills that are essential today.”
Recognized for its education and professional certification programs,
CGTC has been a leading education and training center for the Central Georgia area for over forty years. By offering the Certified Manager (CM) certification program, CGTC becomes a natural extension partner for ICPM.
“The addition of the CM certification program to our current course offerings supports CGTC’s commitment to providing instruction for management professionals in the manufacturing and service industries to reach their educational and certification goals, and providing the kinds of resources for their employers that help to drive their success,” said Becky Lee, Vice President of Economic Development.
