Craig Wentworth Honored With 2009 Leadership Award

Central Georgia Technical College’s Vice President for Academic Affairs Craig Wentworth received the 2009 Award of Leadership on May 21. The vice presidents for academic affairs of the Technical College System of Georgia nominate a candidate from among their peers. Eligibility requirements include being employed with TCSG for at least three years and serving the last two years as a Vice President for Academic Affairs. The recipient will have made significant contributions to technical education through innovation and leadership. Wentworth’s recent contributions have certainly qualified him for this award. He’s been heavily involved in the TCSG Health Programs Committee, facilitated the development and implementation of the Biotechnology Associate of Applied Science Degree at CGTC, served on the Salvation Army Board and coordinated a project for CGTC Carpentry students to build new donation drop boxes to replace those damaged in last year’s tornadoes—and that’s just the beginning. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication Wentworth provides each day to technical education.
